Many organizations operate under the dangerous assumption that Microsoft backs up their Office 365 data. This is a misconception. Microsoft guarantees infrastructure uptime, but you are responsible for your data. If an employee deletes a critical folder, or you are hit by ransomware, Microsoft cannot help. Stratu delivers a complete backup solution that ensures your data can always be restored—no matter what happens.
We do not just back up emails. We protect your entire collaboration platform: Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams (including files and chats).
Take your long-term backup retention with you if you leave us. Stratu offers a service you can bring back in-house if you ever choose to.
Store your Microsoft backup data in a cloud that is professional, secure, and completely separate from Microsoft’s cloud. Your data is stored in Denmark.
Microsoft’s service agreement explicitly recommends the use of third-party backup solutions. Their built-in “Recycle Bin” is only a temporary solution for deleted files, not protection against data loss.
Without a dedicated backup solution, you are left alone with the risk of:
Ransomware If your OneDrive is encrypted, the corrupted files are automatically synced to the cloud. Without an isolated backup, the original files are lost.
Human error: 70% of all data loss is caused by users accidentally deleting or overwriting files. When the recycle bin is automatically emptied after 30 days, the data is gone forever.
Internal Threats: A disgruntled employee can delete critical project folders before leaving the company. Without a backup, you only discover it when it is too late.

We use Veeam world-leading technology for Microsoft 365 backup to create an independent copy of your data.
We move a copy of your data out of Microsoft’s environment and into our secure Danish data centers or isolated cloud storage. This creates the necessary “air gap” that protects you against a complete Microsoft outage or compromise of your tenant.
Automated Backup: Runs in the background several times a day without disrupting users.
Search & Recover: Advanced eDiscovery enables you to search across thousands of emails and files to find exactly what you need.
Flexible Storage: We can retain data for as long as you need—even for former employees—which helps you avoid costly Microsoft licensing.
“Microsoft ensures the train runs. We make sure your luggage doesn’t get lost along the way.”
Implementing Microsoft 365 backup requires no installation on users’ computers. It is a cloud-to-cloud service that we can activate quickly.
1. Analysis & Policy We define your requirements. How long should emails be retained? Should Teams chats be archived? We configure retention policies that match your compliance requirements.
2. Activation We connect our backup engine to your Microsoft 365 tenant. This is done centrally and requires no downtime or user involvement.
3. Operations & Reporting We monitor that all backups run successfully. You receive a monthly report documenting that your data is protected—ideal for presenting during audits.
Modern work doesn’t just happen in your inbox. It happens in Teams channels, on SharePoint intranets, and in personal OneDrive folders. Stratu covers it all.
Microsoft Teams: We don’t just protect the files, but the entire structure: channels, settings, and tabs. If a Team is accidentally deleted, we can restore everything.
SharePoint Online: We protect sites, libraries, and permissions. We can restore a previous version of a document, even if it has been overwritten 50 times since.
OneDrive for Business: We protect the files employees store “locally” in the cloud, so a ransomware attack on a single PC does not spread.
When everything else fails, backup is your last line of defense. It must work. Every time.
Veeam Platinum Partner: We hold the highest technical certifications and have deep expertise in the solution.
Danish Support: If you need an urgent restore, you call a Danish specialist directly who knows your system.
ISO 27001: Our data handling processes are certified, so you can feel confident entrusting us with your most critical data.

One of the biggest concerns with cloud backup is vendor lock-in—the feeling of being stuck because you cannot take your data history with you. At Stratu, we believe that data and history always belong to the customer.
That is why we offer a unique service for full data portability:
No loss of history: If you ever decide to move your backup solution or bring operations in-house, we ensure you can take your long-term backup retention with you.
Data Portability: We provide technical assistance and services that make it possible to move your historical data “back home” to your own infrastructure or another platform.
Compliance Assurance: By preserving your history, you ensure that your documentation requirements and audit trails remain intact, regardless of where your future IT journey takes you.
In a column in Ingeniøren, our CEO Jeppe Klestrup shares his thoughts on a growing challenge: cyber fatigue.
In the article, he writes:
"Cyber fatigue is a form of mental exhaustion that affects two levels. On one side are employees who face a constant stream of warnings, passwords and security requirements.
The result is not greater vigilance, but that people tune out and ignore warnings simply to get through the working day.
On the other side are decision-makers, including IT managers tired of constantly having to choose between security, operations and budgets."

No. Microsoft ensures geo-redundancy (copy of data in another data center) to protect their own operations against fire or outages. They do not provide backup to help you if you delete a file or get hacked.
Version history is useful for minor mistakes, but it does not protect against malicious deletion or a ransomware attack that encrypts all versions. It is also not a true, independent copy of your data.
Our pricing model is typically based on the number of users, not the volume of data (up to a limit). This makes costs predictable even as your data grows.
